1. Satagopa Iyengar (No1) died in Vangal.
SATAGOPA IYENGAR IS THE EARLIEST OF THE VANGALITES (THE FIRST MEMBER OF OUR FAMILY I COULD TRACE).IT IS GENERALLY BELIEVED THAT OUR FOREFATHERS MIGRATED FROM KANCHIPURAM AREA IN EARLY 17TH CENTURY.BUT NO AUTHENTIC RECORDS ARE AVAILABLE ABOUT THE MIGRATION.
THERE IS ANOTHER THEORY ACCORDING TO WHICH OUR FOREFATHERS WERE PUNDITS IN THE COURT OF THE MAHARAJA OF MYSORE AND MIGRATED TO VANGAL(IT WAS AT THAT CALLED 'VARUNGAL')AT THE TIME OF MUSLIM S RULE OF MYSORE.THIS ALSO IS NOT HAVING ANY AUTHENTIC PROOF.
IT APPEARS THAT THEY WERE OWNING LANDS ON THE BANKS OF CAUVERY AND WERE LEADING A DIGNIFIED LIFE AS SANSKRIT SCHOLARS
He had the following children:
+ 2 M i Thiruvenkatatha Iyengar S. + 3 M ii Ranga Iyengar .S
